According to Heidegger, art does not mean something or other. Rather, as a 'slab' of existence it offers a moment of reflection on the fact that there is something rather than nothing, insisting on the question of what it means to be here. Art forces a clearing in the everyday exchanges of existence. It is with this understanding that Jen works as an artist. Her current practice involves both landscape painting and portraiture in an expressionistic style, and she uses whatever materials she has on hand. Her work can be found in Heronview Gallery in Salmon Arm and The Wallace Galleries in Calgary.
