Joan was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and moved to Blind Bay in 1970. She joined the Blind Bay Painters in 1972 and painted first in oils. She now enjoys painting in acrylics, pastels and watercolours. She has been a member of the Shuswap Festival of the Arts for 17 years and received awards for the People's Choice for Best of the Show and Best Floral. Her paintings have found their way to Australia, England, South Africa, the United States and many parts of Canada.
