Sharyn was born and raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and completed teacher training in Regina. She taught elementary grades and special education in Manitoba nd Ontario. She studied art at Alqonquin College in Ottawa, University of Regina, Emma Lake Art School and community college classes and workshops.

Sharyn has shown her work in many individual as well as group art showsand displayed in galleries in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. She has twice been awarded the People's choice for still life at the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts and has received a Juror's Choice Award each year that she has participated. Sharyn is a founding member of the Kamloops Watermedia Painters, and an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She has taught numerous workshops and classes and continues to do so.

Sharyn moved to Blind Bay with her husband Len in 1998 and has been an active member of Blind Bay Painters since her arrival. Sharyn dedicates all available time to painting and enjoys painting both in her studio and on location.
